Office booth seating, lounge seating and tables for a Melbourne office project — 3 x 40HQ

Booth seating, high-back collaborative seating, lounge seating, table and desk components and furniture frames, shipped from China to Melbourne in 3 x 40HQ containers in 2015 — inspected at the factory before shipment and loaded with records.

Project overview

One office package, several product types, 3 x 40HQ

FBM Sourcing supplied a Melbourne office project from China in 3 x 40HQ containers in 2015. The scope included office booth seating, high-back collaborative seating, lounge seating, fabric and upholstery selections, table and desk components, furniture frames, packed items and export cargo prepared for container shipping. Our team handled supplier coordination, production follow-up, inspection before shipment, packing review and container loading supervision.

Seating used in offices and shared workspaces has to look professional, remain stable, resist visible wear and arrive without transport damage. Because this order combined several shapes, colours, materials and packing formats, it was run as a project rather than as a simple product purchase: booth seating, lounge seating and tables have different structures and inspection points, so the work combined overall product review with detail checking.

The package, area by area

What went into the 3 containers

The package was checked product type by product type, because booth seating, lounge seating and tables are judged on different details.

01

01 · Office booth and high-back collaborative seating

Materials and finish. Shape, upholstery condition, panel finish, cushion position, side and back structure and visible workmanship were checked, with fabric close-ups and measurement checks.

Quantity. The record for this project does not break quantities down by line; the whole package shipped in 3 x 40HQ.

02

02 · Lounge seating

Materials and finish. Colour and product appearance were the points recorded for the orange and red seating; fabric and upholstery selections were part of the project scope.

Quantity. Part of the same 3 x 40HQ; the record does not break quantities down by line.

03

03 · Tables, desks and frames

Materials and finish. Tabletop and desk item checks and frame checks confirmed that the correct product categories were present and prepared for shipment.

Quantity. Shipped with the seating in the same 3 x 40HQ; the record does not break quantities down by line.

How the order ran

From the product list to loaded containers

01

The package reviewed by product type

The project needs were reviewed as one office package: booth seating, high-back collaborative seating, lounge seating, table and desk items and frames. Because these product types have different structures and inspection points, the plan covered both overall product review and detail checking for each type.

02

Supplier coordination and production follow-up

Our team communicated with the supplier, followed production status and prepared for inspection. Office project orders combine multiple colours, fabric choices, frame styles and packing methods, so after order confirmation the follow-up covered whether the correct product types were ready, whether desk and table components were prepared, and whether goods were packed for international transport — with timing and quantity controlled so the goods could move as one coordinated export shipment.

03

Inspection when production was finished

The goods were inspected by our own team at the factory, once, when production was finished and before shipment: complete booth seating views, side and back views, fabric close-ups, measurement checks, tabletop and desk item checks, frame checks, packed furniture components and wider warehouse views. One product photo cannot show that a project order is ready; the photo record gave the client a clear basis for approving the shipment.

04

Container loading and records

Office furniture can be bulky and easy to mark during handling, so packing condition was treated as part of quality and loading was supervised after inspection. The loading records show container interior views, cartons and packed goods positioned inside the container and protected furniture items, so the client could confirm that the goods were physically loaded and that the shipment moved forward as planned.

After shipment

What the client held before the containers left China

Before the 3 x 40HQ left China, the client had the inspection photos and the loading records: the booth and lounge seating checked for shape, upholstery, panel finish and structure, the tables and frames confirmed present and prepared, and the cartons arranged inside the containers. That connected sourcing, production follow-up, inspection and loading into one record the client could review from Melbourne.

For repeat office chair orders to the same city — an estimated 10 x 40HQ from 2014 to 2017 — see our Melbourne office chair case. The chairs, workstations, meeting tables and lounge seating we source for office projects are on our office furniture page.

Questions about this project

What did this Melbourne office project include?

Office booth seating, high-back collaborative seating, lounge seating, fabric and upholstery selections, table and desk components and furniture frames, shipped from China to Melbourne in 3 x 40HQ containers in 2015.

What was checked on the office booth seating?

Shape, upholstery condition, panel finish, cushion position, side and back structure and visible workmanship, together with fabric close-ups and measurement checks. The inspection was done by our own team at the factory, when production was finished and before shipment.

Why is packing treated as part of quality on office seating?

Office furniture can be bulky and easy to mark during handling. Differences in finish, missing accessories, weak packing or unclear carton information are problems a client may otherwise only face later, so packed furniture components were checked at inspection and loading was supervised.

Can FBM Furniture run the same process for our office project?

Yes. Send your product list with quantities, drawings or a reference photo for each item, your fabric and finish selections, and where the project is. Tell us the fabric, foam and flammability requirement for your market and we confirm the factory can meet it before we quote. Where your project fits our service, we can quote one product group first as a reference; if quality and terms fit, we continue with the rest.

Have an office seating package to quote?

Send your product list and our team will review it product type by product type, against the standards of the market the project is in.
