What to specify, part by part

01 · Lounge and lobby seating
Lounge chairs, sofas, ottomans and lobby feature pieces come from the seating and upholstery factories, upholstered in the fabric you specify or supply (COM).
- Frame: solid timber, plywood or metal
- Seat and back: the foam and fibre, and the flammability requirement they must meet
- Cover: the fabric or leather, or COM — tell us if fabric is supplied by you
- Dimensions, seat height and arm height, from your drawing or reference
Tell us the fabric, foam and flammability requirement for your market and we confirm the factory can meet it before we quote.

02 · Restaurant and bar seating
Dining chairs, bar stools and banquette seating. Banquettes built into the room are made to your drawings, like the rest of the fixed joinery.
- Chair frame: timber, metal or both, and its finish
- Upholstered or hard seat, and the seat height for table or bar counter
- Banquettes: lengths, back height and upholstery, from your drawings
- Glides or feet for your floor, and stacking if you need it
For large orders, samples are couriered to you for approval before production.

03 · Tables
Dining, coffee and side tables, specified top by top and base by base, so quotations price the same table.
- Top: the material and edge — for example laminate, veneer, solid timber or stone
- Top size and thickness, and the table height
- Base: timber or metal, its finish and the glides
- Whether tops and bases ship assembled or separately for site assembly
Our own QC team checks dimensions, finish, hardware and packing against the signed-off specification before shipment.

04 · Meeting and function rooms
Meeting and function-room furniture for hotels and venues that host events.
- Chairs: stacking or non-stacking, and the upholstery
- Tables: size, top and base, and whether they fold
- Carton labelling by room or area, as your site team wants it

What public area and restaurant furniture do you source?
Lounge chairs, sofas and ottomans; dining chairs, bar stools and banquette seating; dining, coffee and side tables; reception and lobby feature pieces; and meeting and function-room furniture — upholstered in your fabric (COM) or a fabric proposed by us. Seating, casegoods, upholstery, metal frames and fixed joinery come from different factories, and we use each one only for what its line actually makes.
Which flammability rules apply to upholstered restaurant seating in the United States?
Federally, 16 CFR Part 1640, effective 25 June 2021: indoor seating furniture with an upholstered seat, back or arm must meet California Technical Bulletin 117-2013, and since 25 June 2022 must carry a permanent label reading “Complies with U.S. CPSC requirements for upholstered furniture flammability”. In California, since 1 January 2020, new upholstered furniture must also not contain covered flame retardant chemicals above 1,000 parts per million (Business and Professions Code §19101). On and after 1 January 2027, section 19101.5 also prohibits manufacturing, selling, offering or distributing in commerce in California new upholstered furniture that contains, or a constituent component of which contains, textile fiberglass, as that section defines it. We check this with the factory before we quote.
Does the NCC apply to restaurant and lounge seating in Australia?
NCC 2025 Volume One, clause C2D11, sets fire hazard properties for internal linings, floor coverings and other listed materials in Class 2 to 9 buildings, including specific seating in some Class 9b buildings, and lists “a joinery unit, cupboard, shelving, or the like” among the exceptions. State variations apply, and your certifier decides what applies to your building. Tell us what your specification calls for and we confirm what the factory holds before we quote.
Can we supply our own fabric?
Yes. Upholstery can be in your fabric (COM) or in a fabric proposed by us; tell us if fabric is supplied by you, together with the flammability requirement for your market.
What is the minimum order?
A full container. Product groups of the same project can share containers, and we consolidate goods from several factories into full containers. We do not ship loose cargo.
Who inspects the furniture before shipment?
Our own QC team, when production is finished and before shipment: quantities, dimensions, finish, fabric and foam, hardware and packing are checked against the signed-off specification, and you receive a QC report with photos and video. Your own project team is welcome to attend the inspection with us.
