Guestroom sleep package, built-in wardrobes and outdoor furniture for a hotel in Florida

Hotel-grade mattresses, bedding and linen, built-in wardrobes and cabinets, and an outdoor umbrella and furniture package for a Florida hotel, checked by our team once bulk production was finished and shipped in 2021.

Project overview

The furniture side of a seven-container hotel order

This Florida hotel order covered both building materials and FF&E. This page is about the FF&E our team handled for it: hotel-grade mattresses, bedding and linen for the guestrooms, built-in wardrobes and cabinets, and a set of outdoor umbrellas and furniture for the terrace areas. The whole order, including the building materials we do not cover here, left China in seven containers in 2021.

Each of these groups is made by a different kind of factory. Mattress and linen suppliers, panel furniture makers and outdoor furniture workshops all work to their own habits, so the job on our side was to set one written specification per group, keep the makers on the same schedule, and look at every group ourselves before it was packed.

Three FF&E groups for one hotel

Guestroom sleep products, room joinery and the outdoor set, each checked on its own points.

01

01 · Guestroom sleep package

Materials and finish. Mattresses and bedding were looked at for materials, stitching and labelling, and the mattress build was opened up and photographed. Linen was measured with a rule at the inspection.

Quantity. Quantities followed the hotel’s order; they are not listed on this page.

02

02 · Built-in wardrobes and cabinets

Materials and finish. Board-based units. Panels were measured for thickness, and edge banding and hardware operation were checked before the units were packed.

Quantity. Made to the room drawings supplied for the project.

03

03 · Outdoor amenity furniture

Materials and finish. Specified in powder-coated aluminium with marine-grade stainless hardware for a coastal site. Welds, coating and frame stability were reviewed at the inspection.

Quantity. Shipped with the rest of the order.

How the order ran

How the FF&E side of the order ran

01

Specification per product group

The hotel team supplied specification sheets, sample boards and drawings. We turned each group into a China-side specification: materials, sizes, finishes and packing, so quotes, samples and the inspection all worked from one document.

02

Samples signed off first

Samples were requested for the custom items, such as cabinet panel finishes and fabric swatches for bedding. Orders went ahead only after the client had signed the samples off.

03

One inspection after bulk production

When a group finished bulk production, our own team inspected it once before shipment and sent the client a photo report. Clients are welcome to join this inspection.

04

Consolidated and loaded

Goods from the different factories were brought together at our Guangzhou consolidation point. Mattresses and bedding were compressed and wrapped, and the order was loaded to one container plan.

After shipment

What the hotel team had in hand

For each FF&E group the hotel team received photos of the actual goods from the inspection, taken before packing. That gave them a record to sign off against before the containers sailed, and something to check the deliveries against on site.

More about the guestroom side is on our hotel guestroom furniture page, and terrace and pool pieces are covered on our outdoor furniture page.

Questions about this project

What furniture was in this Florida hotel order?

Hotel-grade mattresses, bedding and linen, built-in wardrobes and room cabinets, and outdoor umbrellas and furniture. They shipped in 2021 together with the hotel’s building materials, seven containers in total.

When were the goods inspected?

Once, after bulk production was complete and before shipment, by our own team, with a photo report for the client. Clients are welcome to join this inspection.

Why specify outdoor furniture in powder-coated aluminium for a coastal hotel?

The terrace pieces sit in salt air. The project specified powder-coated aluminium frames and stainless fixings of a marine grade instead of mild steel, so the frames and fixings were chosen for a coastal site before any factory quoted.

Can FBM Furniture handle the FF&E package for our hotel?

Yes. Send your FF&E schedule or product list, room by room, with quantities, plus drawings for any custom pieces, and tell us where the project is. Where your project fits our service, we can quote one product group first as a reference; if quality and terms fit, we continue with the rest.

Have a hotel FF&E package to quote?

Send your FF&E schedule or product list and our team will review it, group by group.
